Giants defeated by Redskins

I read an article today about the Giants loss to the Redskins in their season opener. The final score was a 28-14 victory for the Redskins. The Giants were coming into the season opener with a weakened defense, with six players out for the season with various injuries, also their star defensive end Justin Tuck was out but expected to return next week. The Giants were unable continue a strong start, with their offense going scoreless in the last 32 minutes. This was contributed by Eli Manning's pass that was intercepted and returned for a touchdown in the third quarter to give the Redskins a 21-14 lead, which was a lead they would keep. Also the Giants went 1for 10 on third down conversions, and were unsuccessful on a 4th and 1 attempt. The offense was not only to blame; the defense allowed Rex Grossman to 21 of 34 passes for 305 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Redskins had six receptions of 20 yards or more. As a Giants fan I as well as many other fans were very disappointed in their performance, but given that 15 games remain they have plenty of time to fix their mistakes.
